Greed is the self-serving desire for the pursuit of money, wealth, power, food or other possessions, especially when this denies the same goods to others. It is generally considered a vice & is one of the seven deadly sins of the ancient church.

Discussion

  • Powerful Message. The slot machine analogy really made me think!

  • I would have taken the opportunity for this sermon to point out an understanding of this world’s economy. GREED. The cost of the economy rises, therefore we must pay more, to ensure we maintain a comfortable and even less than comfortable lifestyle we must make more money as well as provide larger sums of money out of pocket. I feel that a comment for “working harder and having a logical understanding” that we need money to survive, to work harder, builds strong character and acknowledges wisdom. Now the sharing of selves to our community and volunteering is where the greed is taken out of the economy, we are all in the world together and accountability and service is where a heart of giving does not justify in greed.
