Christ followers have the influence to bring about changes that cannot be made at the ballot box. We say we want to make a difference in our world! Jesus has given us a model that is more “transformational” than electing a public official! Suppose we determine to radically demonstrate God’s love by loving our enemies, praying for those who persecute us, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting those in prison, caring for widows and orphans, washing people’s feet, taking the last place at the table and humbling ourselves. We have been challenged to be salt, light and leaven. These three elements impact and change their environment. In 2009, what are some measurable ways you and I can impact our world in ways not possible by even an elected official?
