Our desire is to surround our teens with spiritually mature adults who desire to see them grow and flourish in their faith. Our high school leaders model the character of Jesus and mentor our teenagers to model the character of Jesus in their own lives. We are looking for adults (25 and older) who have a heart for teens and a heart for God. We expect our youth coaches to be part of Epic, our Sunday 11am church service (in Towne Hall), and Encounter, our weekly Wednesday night Bible study program (in various homes).

Simply put, the Middle School years are some of the toughest during our time on Earth! Students in this phase of life undergo several major changes - academic, physical, emotional, relation, and spiritual (often all at the same time). This makes it so critical that Middle School students have healthy adult role models to look up to. We're constantly looking for adults between the ages of 18 and 100 to serve as youth coaches in the Middle School ministry. Our qualifications are simple - you must love Jesus and you must honestly like being around Middle School students. We can't train you to do those two things, but training is provided in every other aspect of Middle School ministry to serve our awesome students. We expect our youth coaches to be part of "The Rock", our Sunday 9am church service, and MS:::PM, our weekly Wednesday night Bible study program (both in Towne Hall).

Do you enjoy praying with people one-on-one? Consider serving in this area by praying with anyone who may have a need or prayer request after any PCC service. This usually happens at the front of the auditorium immediately following service. We have a new Prayer Garden area added for a more quiet, serene atmosphere!

Do you want to make a difference here in Tucson and around the world?
Approximately 60 refugees arrive in Tucson each month from refugee camps having fled from persecution, violence or war. You can help rebuild lives from traumatic and tragic circumstances and confirm value by being a 'Cultural Companion'.
What do we do with new arrival refugees?
We welcome refugees at the airport and help them assimilate to U.S. culture. As 'Cultural Companions' we do with our refugees whatever we enjoy doing. We go to the zoo, play soccer, ride bikes, hike, show what good deals are & where to find them, tour around Tucson, go to the public library, etc. We don't volunteer by ourselves, rather we are partnered with another Refugee Team 'Cultural Companion.'
What is the time commitment?
This group is designed for professionals or anyone who is busy that wants to make a difference. The investment is about 1-2 hours per week for the first 3 weeks and then 1-2 hours bi-weekly for the remaining 3 months. After 3 months, our commitment is completed.
How does our team work together?
Each family/group we partner with is supported with a team of about 8-12 volunteers from our Refugee Ministry.
What is required to be a part of this ministry?
You need to attend 1 hour of training. Please email Terri at tferrara@pantanochristian.org for details of next training.
We are a group who cares for refugees and each other. You are welcome to join us at our gatherings that take place the 1st & 3rd weekend of each month at team member's homes. For location and times, email Terri at tferrara@pantanochristian.org.
To learn more about our group, click on our facebook page 'Refugee Ministry (Pantano Christian Church)' at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Refugee-Ministry-Pantano-Christian-Church/294060100624676?ref=tn_tnmn.
We are all about loving people to Jesus, launching passionate people to make a difference in the world.
