The Biblical Discipleship and Growth Ministry is an indigenous, non-denominational and non-profit training and church-planting ministry, planting churches among unreached, non-literate people in the frontiers of sub-Saharan Africa.
The Mission Fields
The Ministry currently works in thirty-six specific mission fields spanning four nations in remote West Africa – Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria – providing training opportunities for non-literate people to hear, believe, accept and share God’s love, using the traditional learning styles of the region – storytelling, music, drumming, dancing, drama and poetry.
Each mission field is coordinated by a prayerfully selected Field Leader, who has completed training in biblical storytelling methods proven in a remote culture. Each Field Leader oversees between 10 to 15 grass-roots church planters and church-plant movements spread miles apart in a given mission field. To help and encourage each Field Leader, a Sponsor is found for him in the U.S.
This U.S. Sponsor has a passion to send motivational capital support on a regular, quarterly basis to the field leader one-on-one through the Ministry. The Field Leader and Sponsor share the same vision for an Africa free from misery, disease, and hopelessness, an Africa washed over in the healing love and power of Christ. Given that these Field Leaders are often subsistence farmers with families to support, this sponsorship is most appreciated, inspiring each Field Leader to give his best ministering in the bush country. A Field Leader can roam nine all-terrain kilometers and more (that’s six-plus miles), usually on foot, to reach all his mission villages, and bring the Gospel story to people there who have never heard it. Sometimes he is fortunate to have a bicycle, or to have been supplied with one through the Ministry. This is an immense help to his ministry.
