If you pay your sponsorship fee by check:  Please put only your sponsor number on the memo line of your check.  Do Not put your child’s name and/or number on the memo line of your check.  If for any reason you need to direct this check for a particular child (and you sponsor more than one), please include a separate note with the check.  This is for IRS purposes.  If you have questions about this tip, please call Compassion at 800-336-7676.

Compassion’s blog (http://blog.compassion.org/) is a great site for learning more about Compassion’s ministry and how your money is being used!  New posts appear at least daily, during the week.  If you dig back, you can find posts about letter-writing and information about what happens to your letter after you mail it; how often you should expect to hear from your child, although this varies from country to country; stories about children who are being served through Compassion, or of former sponsored children and how they are using all that they learned in breaking the cycle of poverty in their families, and much, much more!

Do you ever want to send extra things with your letters?
Compassion’s website has a list of acceptable suggestions here.   As long as you follow the basic parameters, you can be as creative as your mind permits.  Just pay attention, as well, to the things we cannot send.  NOTE:  This list was updated in June 2009 and supercedes any previous lists.
